What Service Does the Iota Zeta Chapter Take Part in?

Philanthropy and service are some of our core values as the Iota Zeta chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma. Not only do we enjoy helping the community, but we have loads of fun while doing it! Each semester our chapter as a whole devotes upwards of 1700 hours to our community in various forms of volunteering. Our service and philanthropy chairs give our chapter an array of volunteering opportunities, from chapter-wide events to individual opportunities, here at Iota Zeta we are always looking for a way to give back.
To Phi Sigma Sigma, service means many things nationally. Throughout Phi Sigma Sigma chapters, one of our main ideals is brought to life by many different service events put on across the country. Locally, as the Iota Zeta chapter, we strive to make a difference both on and off campus. From teaming up with a fraternity to make tie blankets for our local Children's Hospital, to completing a chapter wide beach cleanup, we the Iota Zeta chapter make an effort to integrate service into our every day lives. In Spring of 2016, our chapter has volunteered at a local Gala to raise money for Duluth's local Zoo. Helping contribute to such a massive success of raising over $60,000 was one of our greatest accomplishments as a chapter. Looking forward, we are giving our time to a local elementary school by helping put on a book fair for the kids of Lowell Elementary. Along with all of these amazing events, our service chairman sends out monthly emails that give sisters a multitude of options to volunteer as they please. This in turn allows our sisters to reach out to the campus and the community personally as they please. If you are interested in getting involved in our service events, please be in contact!
